Control Systems Support Technician

This vacancy presents the opportunity for a highly driven, capable and experienced Control Systems Support Technician to join our organisation as part of our continuous growth.

Working closely within our projects and service delivery team, you will play an active part in confidently supporting maintenance, fault-finding and improvements to automation control systems as a qualified electrician with strong industrial controls and automation experience.

You are instinctively hands on with the ability to creatively think outside the square. You have excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, as well as proven problem-solving skills.

You have strong widespread experience across the electrical and automation industry and possess outstanding skills in people engagement, relationship building, time management, estimation, customer service and adopt a strong commitment to safety.

You are highly motivated and have a strong client and team focus, fervently adopting our company values and fostering a positive culture around engagement, ownership and continual learning at all levels.

Core responsibilities:

  • Reactive + planned field service and breakdown support for a range of customers across varying industries; able to provide occasional support after hours;
  • Maintaining and developing a high level of customer satisfaction while actively seeking opportunities;
  • Support with planning, management and commissioning of small to medium projects;
  • Representation (of) and conformity with our core alliance partner agreements;
  • Support working with clients on improvement projects to both existing industrial plant and implementing new changes to control systems;
  • Full compliance with company safety policies including all site-based OH&S requirements and standards;
  • On the job timekeeping and digital site work sheets

Necessary Skills and Experience:

  • A-grade Electrical licence and a strong background (minimum 5+ years) in maintenance and automation is essential;
  • Strong experience in troubleshooting and working with various PLC, HMI, SCADA, control systems technologies (eg: Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider etc);
  • Experience with IT/OT networking, industrial communications protocols, radio/telemetry and industrial network communications;
  • Outstanding attention to detail;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills as well as strong ability to effectively engage with internal team and customers at all levels;
  • Ability to work autonomously and use strong initiative;
  • Solutions orientated, with strong planning and analytical skills and the ability to think on your feet;
  • Possess a strong self-motivated and ‘can-do’ attitude;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) + cloud-based workflow and communication platforms;
  • Ability to reason well, think calmly and logically and perform under pressure;

Control Systems Engineer

This vacancy presents the opportunity for a highly driven and  capable Control Systems Engineer to join our organisation as part of our continuous growth.

Core responsibilities:

  • Developing and preparing design documentation including drawings, specifications, schedules, execution and FAT/SAT;
  • Programming and commissioning of systems from conception to completion;
  • Support establishing client requirements and scope of works;
  • Providing technical support to teammates across engineering and projects;
  • Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and on schedule;
  • Travel and site work;
  • Support with ensuring current technical standards, reference materials, software programs and tools are adopted;

Necessary Skills and Experience:

  • You will be qualified in Engineering having good experience in control systems design, programming and commissioning;
  • Experience working in a Control Systems Engineering role within the industrial automation industry essential;
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task effectively;

Technical Skills: 

  • PLC system programming across at least two major vendors (EG: Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider etc..);
  • SCADA and HMI configuration across at least two major vendors such as Rockwell, Siemens, Ignition SCADA, iFix, Wonderware, WinCC, Citect etc..
  • Good experience and knowledge of IT and OT networking fundamentals;
  • FAT and SAT experience;
  • Good understanding of industry coding standards / practices;

Other desirable skills favoured highly:

  • Experience on mining, water, power and food & beverage projects;

Essential Requirements:

  • Valid C-class driver’s license;

Senior Control Systems Engineer

This new vacancy presents the opportunity for a highly driven, capable and experienced Senior Control Systems Engineer to join our organisation as part of our continuous growth.

Working closely within our projects team, you will take a senior role in confidently leading the design, development, implementation and commissioning of automation control systems.

Core responsibilities:

  • Consultation with clients to establish requirements and scope of works including support with preparation, design and generation of proposals and tenders;
  • Providing technical leadership and support across projects;
  • Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and on schedule;
  • Travel and site work as required;
  • Support with ensuring current technical standards, reference materials, software programs and tools are in place as necessary for the use across project engineering works;

Necessary Skills and Experience:

  • You will be Degree qualified in Engineering having extensive work experience in control systems design, programming and commissioning;
  • Eligible for membership of the Institute of Engineers Australia and eligible for registration with a professional engineers register (eg RPEQ);
  • Wide experience (minimum 6 years) working in a Control Systems Engineering role within the industrial automation industry essential;
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task effectively;
  • Outstanding attention to detail;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills as well as strong ability to effectively engage with internal team and customers at all levels;
  • Ability to work autonomously and use strong initiative;
  • Solutions orientated, with strong planning and analytical skills and the ability to think on your feet;
  • Possess a strong self-motivated and ‘can-do’ attitude;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong experience in estimation + preparing, liaising, evaluating and delivering submissions for tenders and projects;
  • Good understanding of relevant industry codes, standards, specifications, regulations and procedures;
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) + cloud-based workflow and communication platforms;
  • Ability to reason well, think calmly and perform under pressure;

Technical Skills: 

  • Strong PLC/RTU system design and programming across major vendors on complex systems. (EG: Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, Kingfisher etc..);
  • Strong Experience with SCADA and HMI configuration including across major vendors such as Rockwell, Siemens, Ignition SCADA, iFix, Site Edition, Wonderware, WinCC, Citect etc..
  • Good experience and knowledge of IT and OT networking fundamentals and configuration;
  • Experience in configuring and debugging industrial data acquisition protocols such as MQTT, Modbus, ProfiNet, DeviceNet, OPC etc..
  • Strong FAT and SAT experience;
  • Good understanding of industry coding standards / practices

Other Desirable Skills:

  • Experience on mining, water, power and food & beverage projects;
  • Knowledge of machine safety systems would be an advantage
